Notes for Goal 2
- How was baseline established? Old map of City Park found - still neds to be updated.
- Progress made and challenges overcome for reporting year 1 (Please include cost savings and efforts to inform the public of your progress.) Placed order with Vallonia State Nursery for 100 trees each of Norway Spruce, White Pine, Flowering Dogwood, & Redbud. We will be giving away 200 and planting 200 on city property. Earth Day event being planned for the public giveaway.
- Progress made and challenges overcome for reporting year 2 (Please include cost savings and efforts to inform the public of your progress.) Trees given away to public (300). Park planted 100 in bedding area until trees are big enough to move to permanent locations. Will wait until 2015 to order next batch of trees for 2016 give away and park planting. Rain garden that was being planned for park was okayed by city council but voted down by park board. Investigating other areas to plant rain gardens.
