Notes for Goal 4
- How was baseline established? Data taken from annual report submitted to Mayor
- Progress made and challenges overcome for reporting year 1 (Please include cost savings and efforts to inform the public of your progress.)The only cost savings in HHW is ewaste which is shipped for free as long as we ship 20,000 at a time. Also, pesticide disposal cost is lower because we participate in the State Chemist Clean Sweep each year. The more HHW collected the greater the financial cost but major benefit to the environment. We use a local radio program called Take 5 for Your Community to inform the public about HHW. Battery recycling information not available currently. Note Reporting year one data for all of 2013. There is no other way to report this data.
- Progress made and challenges overcome for reporting year 2 (Please include cost savings and efforts to inform the public of your progress.) Items shipped when enough collected to keep cost down. Most companies have fees for stopping and small quantity shipments. Ink cartridges donated to Washington Catholic Schools for fund raising, have not tracked pounds donated. Gave out information at Earth Day event on Apr. 26th and held ewaste collection. Spoke to UMW club about HHW recycling.
- Progress made and challenges overcome for reporting year 3 (Please include cost savings and efforts to inform the public of your progress.)
- Progress made and challenges overcome for reporting year 4 (Please include cost savings and efforts to inform the public of your progress.)
- How was the "total progress over membership term" listed above determined?
